We had the idea of hitting the trail at 5 am. We hit the snooze button until 7. Headed downhill towards Scissors Crossing. We got water from the cache there. It started getting windy. We stayed under the underpass for a bit trying to decide where we wanted to go. After cooking lunch, we decided to head up the San Felipe Hills. It looked like a cactus garden all around. It kept getting windier and we could tell the weather prediction for rain was about to come true. We found the only campsite that was not in a dry creek bed. If it rained, we knew a dry creek bed could be dangerous. We set up as tucked away on a ridge a we could. But it seems to be getting windier. We will button down the hatches tonight!
