I have been eating some crazy amounts of food lately. I have been eating Janel and I’s double portions and am still hungry an hour later. Today I invented a new breakfast with rehydrated sweet potatoes, apples, raisins, pecans, and granola. Either I am starving, or this was the best meal ever. Anyway, when Doc and I got back on the trail this morning, we were in Sequoia National Forest. We walked through another burn area, but we caught our first glimpses of the Sierras so we had some great motivation. I was nearly out of my 8 liters of water by the time we got to Walker Pass. Doc and I were just hoping for water at the campground, but we were shocked to find so much more. We were met with some of the best trail magic we have ever seen on the trail. I don’t want to say too much, but I am forever grateful for the four wonderful people who set this up. Thank you so much! Once the heat of the day subsided, Doc and I hiked on. We made it to a saddle that overlooked the desert and I finally had cell phone service. I called Janel and updated her on my progress. I can’t wait to see her again in a few days. That night, I didn’t bother setting up the tent and slept under the stars.
