After leaving our campsite, Doc and I made it to the Joshua Tree Spring.  I made a double serving of oatmeal and a peanut butter and jelly tortilla.  The rest of the day was crazy hot and went through another burn.  Part way through, we past the point where we had completed 1/4 of the trail.  We had two very big climbs to do, but we were rewarded with some of the best views of the trail.  After the last climb, we reached a saddle that overlooked the desert to one side and the Sierras on the other.  After making dinner, we decided to try to get to the base of the next climb, so that we could hit it early in the morning the next day.  We night hiked until 10PM and made camp just short of a campground.
