Once we left the campground, we entered the South Sierra wilderness. We were immediately greeted with big trees, shade, and a flowing river. It finally felt like we had made it out of the desert. This was somewhat short-lived, though, because a few miles later, we entered another burn. The burn area didn’t last too long though and we were back in the trees. At lunch, we stopped by a piped spring that reminded us of a commercial for a certain prescription. It is still hot and we still need to carry a lot of water between water sources, but we are in the Sierras and the views are incredible.
