We slept in today. We wanted ample time for the snow to soften a bit. If you do a pass too early, it may be too icy. We started our hike at 10am, a leisurely start! We got to the cold and windy top around noon. We descended in to the Rae Lakes area. We had some lunch. Somehow my sleeping pad rolled down a cliff.. I could not believe it. Luckily, I was able to climb down and retrieve it! I was so lucky. I am attached to my sleeping pad and would have been pretty sad if it had gotten away! It taught me a lesson though. Things roll, especially off hills, watch your things! We hiked a total of 10 miles, it was very cold and windy. We cooked dinner and decided to set up our tent before we got any colder.
