The mosquitoes greeted us for breakfast today, so we ate our granola in the tent before packing up. After a hot 1000′ climb, we got to Miller Lake. It seemed a little too perfect so we had to jump in and swim for awhile. After the lake, we climbed up Benson pass. We thought it would be mosquito free at the top, but no one must have told them that they weren’t supposed to be up there. We made camp a couple of miles later at Sandberg Lake and the mosquitoes were as thick as we had ever seen. We threw on our wind pants, wind shirts and head nets and tried not eat any bugs as we ate dinner. We were fairly successful. Despite the bugs, Yosemite has been beautiful.
