Soon after hitting the trail, I got to I-80 where the PCT crosses under the highway through a culvert. Then another treat – flush toilets and running water at the rest area. It was kind of funny to see people’s reactions at the rest area when a few dirty hikers come wandering out of the woods. Once I left, I got to talking to a hiker that was out for the day. It turns out, she is Girl Scout’s sister and was handing out full Starbursts as trail magic. Janel and I met Girl Scout back at Scout and Frodo’s the night before we headed out to the Mexican border. Girl Scout had bought all of the food for that night’s meal. The rest of the day was hot but fairly uneventful.
