I woke up today with 16 miles to the next resupply point – Sierra City. Itwas already hot by 8 am so I knew I wanted to get there as quickly as possible. By 2 pm, I had made it to the highway where you can walk the mile and a half into town our try to hitch in. Since my lovely ride bride (aka Janel) wasn’t with me, I knew I didn’t have a great chance of getting a hitch, so I just walked. Once I got into town, I got my resupply box and bought a few more food items and then decided to eat a “Gut Buster”. I won’t gross anyone out by explaining what that is but it nearly lived up to its name. After that, I got a shower at a free setup the town provides and camped behind the Red Moose Inn with a few other hikers.
