Soon after waking up, I started the 3000′ descent to the middle fork of the Feather River. It was hot and it was humid. It really felt like an Ohio summer day. I felt like I was in my element. Once I got to the river, I found a great swimming hole and jumped in clothes and all. All of this clothing dries super fast and it needed a rinsing anyway. I stayed and ate lunch by the river and then started the 3000′ climb back up. It didn’t take long until I was drenched in sweat again. At the top of the climb, I had great cell reception, so I called Janel while I made dinner.
