I met some hikers at the trailhead this morning. One of them gave me a forest service map and I realized I would be much better off hitching the other way. That is about the time all of the cars started heading the opposite direction. I tried to hitch until about 11am, then gave up and started walking back down the road. After a few miles I met a really nice couple and they offered me a ride down to highway 3. Once I got to highway 3, though, I spent three hours before I got a hitch. I did finally get to Etna and made my way to the brewery with Lumber. Captain, Shutter, and Shamiko were in town too so they came down too. It was good to see those guys again. After two dinners and two cookie sundaes, I waddled down to the Alderbrook Manor and set up the tent in the backyard (they let you do that).
