Mary, the owner of the Sisters Motor Lodge, was kind enough to drive us back to the trail this morning before she opened the office. We got on the trail at 8:30 and started the day’s hike through lava rock. After the lava, we entered an old burn area, but we had some nice views of Mt. Washington. We passed the 2000 mile mark later on, and got into more burn area as we entered the Mt. Jefferson wilderness. We found a nice campsite on a ridge just below Three Finger Jack, a very jagged peak south of Mt. Jefferson.
