We learned a lesson way back in the Sierras that it isn’t a good idea to camp in a meadow (see day 56). Cold air and moisture settle into meadows at night and can make it very wet and cold. We kind of forgot that lesson last night and woke up to a frozen tent. We got moving before the ice could melt. After a couple of hours, we found some sun at the top of a hill and laid out our stuff to dry while we made breakfast. We also got our first views of Mt. Rainier. The rest of the day was sunny and mild. It was a great day for a hike.
