Nope. Didn’t quite beat the weather. We did catch the first bus out, and we were making pretty good time tackling the steep 3600′ climb, but the weather was just a little bit faster. We were only about 300′ from the top when the rain came over the top of the Ten Mile range and we had to hunker down for a bit. Once the rain subsided a little, we climbed through the pass and it was all blue sky and puffy clouds on the other side. Once we got closer to the treeline, we sat in the sun and dried out and warmed up. Taking part in the ordeal, we met Peacock, Patches, and Papa who had hiked the AT last year. Towards the end of the day, we walked through the Copper Mountain ski area and crashed for the night.
